How to play Word Search
- Three hidden words from one theme are listed above the grid — animals, food, weather, and more.
- Scan the grid for them. On Easy, words read across and down; higher levels add diagonals and reversed words.
- Tap any letter of a word you have spotted and the whole word highlights — no dragging needed.
- A wrong tap simply flashes and clears. There is no penalty, so trust your eye and keep hunting.
- Find all three words and a new puzzle loads. Clear as many as you can before the minute runs out.

Word search puzzles are visual scanning with a language twist. To find a hidden word, your eyes have to sweep the grid systematically while your mind holds the word's shape — its first letters, its length, its distinctive pairs — ready to match. That combination of controlled eye movement and pattern recognition is the same machinery you use every time you skim a page for a name or a number, which is why word searches sit so naturally in reading training.
The one-minute clock adds a focus component. Random letters are genuinely noisy, and picking a real word out of that noise takes sustained, selective attention — especially on higher levels, where words can run diagonally or backwards. Short daily rounds are an easy, pleasant way to practise staying locked on a visual task.
Tips to improve
- Start from the word list, not the grid. Pick one word, hold its first two letters in mind, and scan for that pair.
- Sweep the grid in a steady pattern — row by row or column by column — rather than letting your eyes jump at random.
- Unusual letters are anchors. If a word contains a k, w, or z, hunt for that letter first.
- On Hard and Extreme, remember words can read backwards — check both directions before moving on.
